A picnic at Saint-Maur harbour!
Located just in front of the old Saint-Maur-of-Glanfeuil abbey, Port St-Maur was an important place of Loire sailing, up to the ninetieth century. Its actual display dates from 1862-1870.
A playground area has been arranged for children. Picnic tables have been installed for people who want to have lunch on the Loire side. You can also easily park your vehicles on the car park and have a pleasant walk along the banks.
A boat trip on Loire river!
In family or with friends, take benefit of summer season to discover or to re-discover the Loire and its wealth. All along a wonderful boat trip with comments, between Angers and Saumur, take off the veil of Loire mysteries. It’ s the last river registered on the UNESCO world heritage list.
You could discover little villages, typical of the old Loire barges’ life. Sand banks are settled by a great diversity of birds species and you‘ll be surprised by the continuous removing of the sceneries, following the weather and day times. Real heaven for hundreds birds as rare as beautiful; the Loire valley is an ecosystem for many migratory birds.
Inboard to discover the wildest river in Europe! The trip lasts 90 minutes, but it is subject to modification regarding sailing conditions. Ticket office is at the Port Saint-Maur at La Ménitré.

A canoë trip on Loire river!
The water-sports club is managed by the campsite of La Ménitré. You could rent canoes per hour or per day, allowing you to discover the Loire river from Port Saint-Maur base. Opening period: from May to September.

A tour by Hiking trails!
Several hiking trails are dispatched on La Ménitré area. All are easy. “Les Ponceaux” is a 14,5 km walk that lasts around 3:30. Let’s go to discover the secret of La Ménitré with another circuit of 2 hours.
Signs will give you information about the buildings and sites all along your way.

Visit the beer factory « Les bières d’Anjou »!
Settled near La Ménitré rail station, the manufacturing plant of “Les bières d’Anjou”, produces a biological beer: “La Piautre”.
You are welcome to discover and to taste the range of their productions. Eight beers are produced at the same time: seven permanently (white, light ale, red ale, brown ale, black ale, triple fermenting ale and indian pale ale) and one seasonal brewing ale (only 2 000 l).
Selling : every Saturday : from 9:30 am to 12 am and from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Individual visits and tasting: every Saturday at 11 am and at 3 pm on booking Group visits ( from 10 to 50 persons): on working days only on advance booking
